Shillong, April 2 -- Coal miners in Meghalaya have decided to urge the state and the central governments to formulate a scientific mining policy tailored to the region's unique land tenure system and geological conditions.
Jaintia Coal Miners and Dealers Association (JCMDA), President Borrin Shadap said that the Association would hold a public rally at Khliehriat in East Jaintia Hills district to press on both the governments at the Centre and the state to formulate a scientific mining policy which is unique in nature to the region's land tenure system and geological conditions of the state.
