Kolkata / Ranchi, Aug. 1 -- Coal India Limited (CIL) has strengthened its post-retirement welfare framework through reforms in pension administration, healthcare and social security, benefiting more than 4.5 lakh retired employees and pensioners.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the company said the minimum pension under the Coal Mines Pension Scheme was enhanced to Rs 1,000 per month with effect from March 8, 2024, benefiting around 40,000 pensioners.

CIL said, in collaboration with the Coal Mines Provident Fund Organisation (CMPFO), it has introduced the C-CARES platform, reducing the average settlement time for retirement claims from 30 days to 10 days. It has also set up Post Retirement Benefit Cells at its headquarters and subsidia...
