New Delhi, Aug. 19 -- A powerful explosion at the CNG refuelling station in Outer Delhi's Tikri Kalan caused the death of three people, while as many bystanders were injured, said officials from Delhi Fire Service (DFS) on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Manish (25), Brahmjeet (34) and Sunny (30), all employees of the CNG filling station, police said. The injured, Surjeet, Sanjay and Vipin, were admitted to CD Global Hospital in Mundka.

According to the DFS, the explosion occurred at around 3:20 pm while CNG was being transferred from a refilling truck to the filling station. A cylinder on the truck exploded with a loud blast, triggering panic in the area.
