Siliguri, April 16 -- Hours after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday claimed that a BJP government in the state could impose restrictions on the consumption of fish and meat, her Assam counterpart Himanta Biswa Sarma accused the Trinamool Congress supremo of "deliberately misleading the public".
Addressing an election rally at Mathabhanga in Cooch Behar district, Banerjee said if BJP forms the government, they will start controlling what people eat and wear.
"Do you know what will happen if BJP comes to power? They won't allow you to eat fish or meat. You have to go by their wishes," she said.
