Kozhikode, Aug. 31 -- Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today inaugurated the construction works of the 8.73 km double-tunnel, estimated to cost Rs 2,134 crore, connecting Anakkampoyil in Thiruvambadi panchayat in Kozhikode district to Kalladi in Meppadi panchayat of Wayanad.
The inaugural function was held at St Mary's school ground in Anakkampoyil.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said "The State government is paving the way for the comprehensive development of Malabar region and will give a boost to the development in the tourism, agriculture and trade sector."He also said the construction works will be completed within 60 months.
