Kolkata, May 13 -- : Responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for fuel conservation amid the ongoing West Asia crisis, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced a reduction in the number of vehicles in his official convoy and directed security personnel to remove unnecessary cars.

Speaking outside the Assembly after taking oath as the MLA of Bhabanipur on Wednesday, the Chief Minister said he had instructed his security team to ensure that only essential vehicles remained part of the convoy.

"I have told the security personnel to remove unnecessary vehicles," Adhikari said while interacting with reporters outside the Assembly premises.
