Shimla, Nov. 7 -- Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today reviewed various ongoing tourism projects of the Tourism Department and said that land awards worth Rs 460 crore have been released and disbursed to beneficiaries towards land acquisition for the expansion of Kangra Airport. Awards amounting to another Rs 1,899 crore are ready for disbursement, he added.
Emphasizing the strategic importance of the airport expansion, Sukhu said it will bolster the economy of Kangra district and surrounding areas, boost tourism, generate employment and self-employment opportunities for local youth, and attract high-end tourists to the region.
