Shimla, June 19 -- : Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday directed the Forest Department to prepare a comprehensive plan for diversion of land related to 2,183 roads constructed without approval under the Forest Conservation Act (FCA), 1980, by processing the cases under the provisions of the Forest Rights Act (FRA), 2006.

Presiding over a meeting of the Forest Department here, the Chief Minister said the exercise would be carried out in accordance with the directions of the Himachal Pradesh High Court.

Sukhu said the state government was committed to strengthening rural connectivity infrastructure and ensuring better access to remote and far-flung areas.
