Hyderabad, May 25 -- Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday virtually laid the foundation stones for 8,000 'Indira Gandhi Stree Shakti (IGSS) Bhavans' across the state from the Secretariat, describing the initiative as a historic step towards women's empowerment and economic independence.
Addressing a gathering as part of the 'Praja Palana' and 'Pragathi Pranalika' programmes during Women's Week celebrations, the Chief Minister said the state government was committed to strengthening women economically and socially. He stated that the simultaneous launch of 8,000 buildings was the first initiative of its kind in the country.
