New Delhi/Hyderabad, Feb. 12 -- Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday urged union Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Prahlad Joshi to accept 18 lakh metric tonnes of additional grain procured by Telangana during the 2025-26 monsoon season and extend support on several pending issues related to rice procurement and payments.
The Chief Minister, along with State Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, met the union Minister at his residence and informed him that while 53.73 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) were approved for procurement during the monsoon crop, higher-than-expected production led to the collection of an additional 18 LMT.
