Patna, Sept. 5 -- Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Saturday directed the administration to remain on high alert as the Ganga continues to rise, with special focus on Patna's urban areas and vulnerable embankment stretches.
Choudhary has asked the Patna Municipal Corporation, district administration and Water Resources Department to maintain round-the-clock vigil over the rising river level and closely monitor the Patna Urban Protection Embankment and adjoining areas.
The Chief Minister has also directed ministers-in-charge and principal secretaries of the Ganga basin districts to camp in the affected areas and personally supervise flood preparedness, relief and rescue operations.
