Itanagar, April 9 -- Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday dedicated the re-rated Kitpi Mini Hydel Project (Phase-I) to the people of Tawang, in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, MLAs Tsering Lhamu and Namgay Tsering, along with other dignitaries.
Located at Kitpi village on the Nametrong River, the hydropower project generates electricity using the natural flow of water.
Originally commissioned in 1977, the project has now been upgraded from 3x500 KW to 2x750 KW, significantly enhancing its efficiency and generation capacity, producing more power through better optimisation of resources.
The upgradation, undertaken at a sanctioned cost of Rs 1526.78 lakh, is expected to benefit around 1,250 households...
