Sangli, July 25 -- Maharashtra Water Resources Minister Dr Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil today said the government is making efforts to develop the drought-affected areas by providing more funds.
Vikhe-Patil was speaking while interacting with farmers after visiting Biroba at Shri Kshetra Biroba Devsthan Arewadi in Kavathe-Mahankal tehsil of this district.
He said that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has resolved to make Maharashtra drought-free.
Today, on the occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi, he prayed at the feet of Vithoba of Pandharpur to fulfill this resolve.
Vikhe-Patil said that Fadnavis has provided substantial funds for the Upsa (lift) irrigation schemes to provide relief to the drought-affected areas.
