Mumbai, July 30 -- Mumbai and its adjoining suburbs are likely to experience generally cloudy skies with moderate rainfall at isolated places on Thursday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its morning weather bulletin.

According to the IMD's 0800 hrs forecast, weather conditions are expected to remain overcast throughout the day, with intermittent spells of moderate rain likely across the city and suburbs.

Rainfall recorded during the 24-hour period ending at 0800 hrs on Thursday stood at 1.23 mm in the island city, 2.29 mm in the eastern suburbs and 0.55 mm in the western suburbs, indicating light monsoon activity across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
