New Delhi, June 8 -- The Supreme Court on Monday issued notice to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on a writ petition filed by a student residing in Saudi Arabia, who has sought the declaration of his Class XII Improvement Examination result. The matter is scheduled to be heard next on Friday.

Pransu Jigarkumar Patel, in his petition before the apex court, challenged the CBSE's decision to withhold his Class XII Improvement Examination result despite the board introducing a special assessment mechanism for students whose examinations in several Gulf nations were cancelled due to the prevailing security situation.
