Ghazipur, April 23 -- Tensions flared in Katariya village under the Karanda police station area of Ghazipur district in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday after a Samajwadi Party (SP) delegation clashed with police and villagers.

Following the violence, police registered an FIR against 46 named SP leaders-including two MLAs and the district president-and around 200 unidentified individuals, officials said on Thursday.

According to police officials, the accused are being identified through video footage of the incident. The clash left several people injured, including police personnel, villagers, and SP workers. Among the injured were former minister Ram Asrey Vishwakarma and Karanda SHO Santosh Pathak.
