New Delhi, Oct. 22 -- Three Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders, Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka and Ajinkya Shinde, skipped their scheduled appearance before the Delhi Police Crime Branch on Thursday after seeking additional time to join the investigation into protests at Jantar Mantar. Police are expected to issue fresh notices to them.
The three had been directed to appear at the Crime Branch office in Rajouri Garden at noon. The development comes amid an ongoing police investigation into demonstrations linked to allegations of irregularities in the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
The summonses were issued a day after Das and Ranka walked out of Tihar Jail following more than a week in custody. The...
