Chandigarh, Jan. 9 -- Chief Justice of India, Justice Suryakant, on his first visit to Haryana after assuming the country's top judicial office, shared personal memories from the early days of his legal career while addressing a programme organised by the Hisar Bar Association on Thursday.

Recounting events from 1984, the CJI said he began visiting the Hisar court on April 21 that year and formally started practice on July 29 under senior advocate Atma Ram Bansal. He recalled an incident when a district judge questioned a senior member of the bar about mentoring him in Hisar. This interaction eventually led him to move to Chandigarh to pursue broader professional opportunities.
