Jaipur, April 25 -- The Chief Justice of India (CJI) Justice Surya Kant called upon retired judges to play a role in lightening the burden of pendency of cases before the courts by participating in the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanism.
Delivering his address at the Constitution Club here at a seminar on - "The Bench Beyond Retirement : Role of Retired Judges in the Growth of ADR and Legal Awareness for the Common People", the CJI said that apart from spreading legal awareness among citizens, retired judges can play a significant role in conciliation and mediation.
