Chennai, June 27 -- Justifying MDMK's walk out from the DMK alliance citing insult, Party General Secretary Vaiko on Saturday stopped short of entering into an alliance and said it would support the ruling TVK headed by Chief Minister Vijay in the ensuing Local Body and Assembly bye-elections.
Talking to reporters after the MDMK General Council meeting, which had unanimously resolved to exit the DMK alliance, Vaiko said though Vijay had promised to get two of his party's Legislators re-elected in the bypolls if both of them, who had won on DMK symbol in recent polls, the MDMK has decided to remain friendly with the TVK in Local body elections and support it in the Assembly bypolls to be held for five seats.
