Srinagar, April 1 -- J&K Police's Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Wednesday filed a chargesheet against a doctor and his wife accused in a Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act case for alleged misuse of social media platforms to spread secessionist and misleading content.
CIK said the chargesheet was produced before the Court of Special Judge designated under the NIA Act in Srinagar against Dr. Umer Farooq Bhat and his wife Shahzada Akther, both residents of Bugam, Kulgam, in connection with an FIR registered last year at Police Station CIK Srinagar.
The case was registered under Sections 152 and 62(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 13, 38 and 39 of the UAPA.
