Bhubaneswar, Nov. 10 -- union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday called for including millets in mid-day meals, praising Odisha's women farmers and the state's successful millet mission.
Inaugurating the "Mandia Dibasa" (Millet Day) celebrations, Chouhan highlighted Odisha's exemplary contribution in transforming India's millet movement into a people's mission.
Encouraging the integration of millets into nutrition schemes, he suggested that millets should be included in children's mid-day meals and millet outlets should be established in all government departments, so that other states can replicate Odisha's model.
