Kolkata, Oct. 25 -- Kolkata Police officers who were on duty outside the Chorbagan Sarbojanin Durga Puja pandal on October 17, when a stampede claimed 19 lives, are likely to be summoned by the police Special Investigation Team (SIT) as investigators widen their probe into the circumstances leading to the tragedy.
Lalbazar has prepared a list of police personnel deployed at the pandal on Saptami, with the SIT planning to question those responsible for crowd management and maintaining law and order.
Investigators are particularly keen to establish who instructed the announcers to make the announcement that the pandal was collapsing, which allegedly triggered panic among visitors.
