Hyderabad, March 25 -- Former union minister and senior Congress leader Chinta Mohan on Wednesday criticised the Centre's handling of the situation arising from the ongoing West Asia conflict, alleging that this has led to rising fuel prices and widespread public anxiety.

Speaking to the media at the Press Club in Somajiguda here, Chinta Mohan said the conflict has triggered an increase in the prices of petrol, diesel, gas and essential commodities, creating concern among people across the country.

He alleged that the war was being used to divert attention from other global controversies and accused the NDA government of failing to play a constructive role in defusing tensions.
