New Delhi, Oct. 22 -- China has requested WTO dispute consultations with India about certain Indian measures in automotive and renewable energy sectors.

The measures adopted by India include incentives to promote production of advanced chemistry cell batteries, automobile and auto components and electric vehicles (EVs) in India, the WTO said.

The request for consultations was communicated by China to India on October 15 and circulated to the Dispute Settlement Body of the WTO on October 20.

China is of the view that the measures are contingent on the use of domestic over imported inputs or are otherwise discriminatory against Chinese products and are inconsistent with various provisions under the Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing...
