Beijing, March 10 -- China will continue maintaining an appropriate level of defense spending to ensure balanced growth between national defense and the economy, a military spokesperson said on Tuesday while outlining the country's 2026 defense budget arrangement.
Senior Colonel Zhang Xiaogang, spokesperson for the Chinese delegation of the People's Liberation Army and Armed Police Force to the Fourth Session of the National People's Congress, said the Chinese government has steadily increased defense spending in recent years to safeguard national sovereignty, security and development interests.
