New Delhi, Sept. 28 -- Kalawati Saran Children's Hospital (KSCH) is set to add 500 beds, taking its capacity from 394 to 894, as part of an ongoing expansion to strengthen paediatric care, officials from the Health Ministry said on Monday.
The expansion will also increase the hospital's ICU capacity from 40 to 200 beds and the number of operation theatres from four to 12, according to the Health Ministry. Construction work on the KSCH campus is underway.
The ministry said the expansion is intended to increase capacity for tertiary and super-speciality paediatric care as well as undergraduate, postgraduate and super-speciality medical training.
