Patna, Oct. 2 -- Child help desks or child corners were initiated at all 1,373 police stations across Bihar on Friday on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
Official sources said here that the initiative has been undertaken in accordance with Section 8(5) of the Bihar Police Act, 2007, and the guidelines issued by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR). Established with the guiding principle of "Child safety, our priority", the help desks are aimed at providing children visiting police stations for assistance or in connection with any case with a safe, sensitive and child-friendly environment where they can speak without fear or hesitation.
