Hazaribagh, July 7 -- A one-and-a-half-year-old child abducted from Mahavir Sthan in Hazaribagh was rescued by police from Chauparan, and six persons have been arrested for allegedly planning to sell the child for Rs 1.5 lakh.
The incident occurred on July 1 when the child's mother, Meetu Devi, a resident of Shivpuri, was near Mahavir Sthan with her daughter and younger son. Taking advantage of a brief moment of distraction, an unidentified man picked up the child and attempted to flee. When the mother asked the elder daughter about the boy's whereabouts, she said she had seen a man taking him and had been given Rs 100 to buy something from a shop. The man used this as a ploy to escape with the child.
