Kolkata, March 26 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's flight finally landed safely at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport on Thursday evening, albeit well behind schedule. The landing was delayed because the flight had to stay mid-air for a long time due to severe storm conditions in Kolkata.

Banerjee, who was returning to Kolkata after concluding her election campaign in West Burdwan and Birbhum districts, was travelling in a small private jet from Andal. The aircraft took off from Andal airport at around 3:39 pm and was scheduled to land in Kolkata by 4:00 pm. However, a sudden deterioration in weather conditions over the airport disrupted the landing schedule.
