Raipur, Aug. 10 -- In what is being seen as a significant achievement for healthcare services in Chhattisgarh, the Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital in Raipur has performed 13 lung lobectomies over the past two months.

Nine of these complex surgeries were carried out within just 20 days, marking a notable achievement for the institution. The patients ranged in age from 15 to 70 years. Among them was a 15-year-old patient with aspergilloma who underwent removal of the affected upper lobe of the left lung, making the patient the youngest to undergo a lung lobectomy at the institution so far.
