Raipur, Sept. 1 -- Chhattisgarh is still in the grip of an active monsoon spell, with heavy rain forecast across several parts of the state on Tuesday.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for six districts and a yellow alert for 15 more. The weather is expected to ease somewhat from Wednesday, September 2.

The intensity of the recent rain can be seen in the figures from the past 24 hours. Chando in Balrampur received 290 mm, the highest recorded during the period. Kotadol in MCB got 168 mm, while Shankargarh recorded 120 mm.
