Chennai, Sept. 17 -- The Chennai Port has achieved an all-time record in the export of Pig Iron by handling 14,778 tons on a single day on September 14, 2026.
The record shipment was executed through the vessel M V Supra Monarch at Jawahar Dock - VI, surpassing the previous record of 13,208 tons handled from M V Agia Charis on July 30, 2026.
This achievement highlights the operational efficiency and excellent coordination among all stakeholders involved in cargo handling operations at the Port, a PIB release said.
