Chennai, March 24 -- Nearly 57pc of the India's Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride (uPVC) profile/frames production capacity remaining idle the Indian government should act fast to curb the dumping from China, urged a top official of All India uPVC Manufacturers Association (AIUPMA).
"The Indian government should take multi-pronged steps like levying anti-dumping duty, making BIS norms mandatory for domestic sales, harmonising the duty structure and others," said Eniyan Shivam, President.
The imported cheap uPVC profiles from China have captured nearly 51pc of the Indian Rs18,000 crore market and if this is allowed to continue then there will be no Make-in-India but only Sale-in-India in this sector, Shivam said.
