Ranchi, April 23 -- A special MP-MLA court in Ranchi on Thursday framed charges against AJSU Party chief Sudesh Mahto and several others in connection with a 2021 protest over OBC reservation.
Those present in court included Sudesh Mahto, Giridih MP Chandra Prakash Choudhary, former minister Ramchandra Chandravanshi, party spokesperson Deosharan Bhagat and former MLA Shivpujan Mehta.
The court of judicial magistrate Sarthak Sharma framed the charges in the case related to a protest held on September 8, 2021.
According to the case, thousands of AJSU workers had taken to the streets in Ranchi demanding 27 per cent reservation for Other Backward Classes and attempted to march towards the chief minister's secretariat.
