Kolkata, Jan. 9 -- In a rare instance, Justice Shubra Ghosh had to leave the courtroom after proceedings in the Calcutta High Court were disrupted by unprecedented chaos on Friday during the hearing of cases involving the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Trinamool Congress (TMC).

The hearing stemmed from recent ED raids at the Salt Lake office of political consultancy firm I-PAC and the residence of its founder, Pratik Jain.

The Enforcement Directorate had approached the Calcutta High Court, alleging obstruction of its investigation and filed a case citing a CBI inquiry. The Trinamool Congress, on the other side, moved the Calcutta High Court challenging the central agency's action.
