Kolkata, July 4 -- Hours after resigning as the state secretary of Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Saturday, ex-minister of state for finance (Independent Charge) Chandrima Bhattacharya fired a salvo against former chief minister Mamata Banerjee alleging that she had never been involved in the actual preparation of state budgets during the previous regime.

Chandrima resigned as TMC state president and stepped down from all party positions, upset over questions being raised over her credibility and loyalty within the organisation.

Speaking to the media after her resignation, Chandrima revealed she was informed about budget proposals only a few hours before they were presented in the Assembly.
