Chandrapur, Aug. 29 -- : Chandrapur police have arrested the alleged mastermind behind a fake degree and certificate racket that was recently unearthed in the district, marking a major breakthrough in the investigation, officials said on Saturday.
The accused, identified as Parimal Baburao Gaurkar (32), a resident of Tukum in Chandrapur, was arrested by Durgapur police on Friday after remaining absconding since the registration of the case.
He is believed to be the key operator of the racket, which allegedly supplied forged educational documents, including degrees, diplomas, mark sheets and transfer certificates.
