Chandigarh, July 10 -- In a major welfare initiative aimed at breaking the cycle of poverty through education, the Chandigarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board has announced a significant enhancement in educational assistance for the children of registered construction workers, besides introducing cash awards of up to Rs 2 lakh for meritorious students and expanding a host of social security benefits for workers and their families.
