Chandigarh, June 23 -- Amritsar Rural Police on Tuesday claimed to have foiled a suspected criminal plot by arresting two alleged shooters following an exchange of fire in the Khalchian area. Police said one of the accused sustained a bullet injury during the operation, while two firearms were recovered from their possession.
According to police officials, the action was carried out after intelligence inputs indicated that two individuals allegedly linked to a foreign-based gangster network were present in the area. Acting on the information, police teams launched a search operation and tracked the suspects with the help of technical surveillance and local intelligence.
