Ayodhya, July 18 -- Former general secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust Champat Rai has decided to spend his first Chaturmas (from July 25 to November 21) in Ayodhya, which time he will spend in meditation and regularly recite the Ramcharitmanas.
According to religious belief, he will not leave Ayodhya during this four-month period, which begins on July 25 and ends on November 21 (Devuthani Ekadashi).
While in Ayodhya, he will practice meditation, chant mantras, regularly recite the Ramcharitmanas, and lead a virtuous lifestyle.
Champat Rai has been in seclusion since June 23 at the Tirtha Kshetra Bhavan in Ramkot, adjacent to the Ram Temple.
