Macau, June 21 -- Indian shuttler Ashmita Chalihal's spirited run at the Macau Open BWF World Tour Super 300 came to an end in the semifinals today after a straight-games defeat to Korea's Park Ga Eun.
Ashmita went down 17-21, 9-21 in 38 minutes, as her promising start faded after a strong opening-game lead slipped away.
The Indian left-hander began aggressively and kept the pressure on early, racing to a 15-11 advantage with sharp net play and quick court coverage. However, Park Ga Eun responded with a decisive shift in tempo, winning 10 of the next 12 points to overturn the deficit and take the opening game 21-17.
