Aizawl, Oct. 30 -- A joint delegation of Chakma community leaders from Mizoram and Tripura submitted a memorandum to union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh, urging the Centre to approve a two-lane National Highway connecting the Tripura border to Zochachhuah in southern Mizoram.
The memorandum was handed over to the minister during his visit to Silsury, Mizoram, where he was attending a campaign rally for the 2-Dampa Assembly by-election.
The delegation proposed that the highway run from the Tripura border near Kawnpui to Zochawchhuah, linking it to NH-502A - a key route of the Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project (KMMTTP) that connects India and Myanmar.
