Panchkula, Aug. 7 -- Expenditure under the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) on the Pensioner and Other Retirement Benefits (PORB) head has risen sharply over five years, reaching Rs 6,144.17 crore in 2025-26, compared with Rs 2,741.17 crore in 2021-22.

This represents an increase of about 124 per cent between 2021-22 and 2025-26. Cumulatively, expenditure under the head during the five financial years totals Rs 23,444.71 crore, based on the year-wise figures, provides a picture of the CGHS network of empanelled Health Care Organisations (HCOs) nationwide.
