Panchkula, Sept. 2 -- The union Health Ministry has formulated the approval process for transplant cases, robotic cancer surgery, special procedures and devices, restricted medicines, and unlisted treatments under the Central Government Health Scheme more locally.

Under the new system, the relevant CGHS additional director can approve certain cases within set financial limits after a three-member local technical committee reviews them.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare announced the updated procedure in an Office Memorandum dated September 1. All earlier memoranda and instructions that required review by the CGHS Standing Technical Committee will be superseded by this new order as of its issue date.
