Hyderabad, July 9 -- union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy on Thursday said the Centre had taken historic decisions to safeguard the future of the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) by allocating the Tadicherla-II and Naini coal blocks, which would ensure energy security, create thousands of jobs and generate a turnover of about Rs 2.25 lakh crore over the next four decades.

Addressing a press conference at a private hotel in Banjara Hills, Kishan Reddy said the Modi government had prioritised the welfare of Singareni and its 75,000 employees, besides protecting the livelihoods of nearly 10 lakh people who depend indirectly on the company.
