New Delhi, April 26 -- The Centre is moving ahead with a proposal to set up dedicated space laboratories in academic institutions, with seven such facilities planned in the first phase.

Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh recently reviewed the plan, which aims to provide students with hands-on exposure to satellite systems, rocketry, and mission design. However, details on timelines and participating institutions are yet to be announced.
