Panchkula, Aug. 20 -- E-rickshaws, e-carts, farm tractors, and combine harvesters may have new rules for headlamps, lights, reflectors, and warning devices as the Centre suggests changes to the Central Motor Vehicles Rules.
According to draft rules from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, e-rickshaws, e-carts, and three-wheeled vehicles for disabled people can have one or two headlamps. Other motor vehicles, except e-rickshaws, e-carts, three-wheelers, three-wheeled disabled vehicles, and two-wheelers, must have two or four headlamps.
The draft also suggests that starting April 1, 2028, automatic headlamps will only use the low beam when turned on.
