Hyderabad, Jan. 22 -- union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy on Thursday said the Centre has never exercised direct control over Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) and that all key decisions are taken by the SCCL board, where the Telangana government holds the majority.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP Telangana state office, Kishan Reddy said Singareni, which has a 136-year history and operates across about eight districts, has gradually moved towards losses after Telangana's formation due to rising costs and declining revenue.
He alleged that both the previous BRS government and the present Congress government contributed to the company's financial crisis through political interference and faulty policies.
