Mumbai, May 15 -- Rajya Sabha MP and former special public prosecutor in terrorism cases, Adv. Ujjwal Nikam has revealed that the Central Government is working on a major legal reform under which any political leader who remains in jail for 30 days or more, may be barred from continuing in public office.
Talking to mediapersons here on Friday, Nikam said the proposed law would apply uniformly to all constitutional and political positions, including those of Prime Minister, Chief Ministers, and Ministers. He said a final decision on the matter is expected soon.
